{Decorative lanterns used in my room.}

Sometimes I find myself overwhelmed or stressed out by my busy days. Whether it comes from over studying, over practicing, or over thinking, it can get a bit over-the-top. In cases like this, I find myself doing the same things to keep me smiling. Oftentimes I find myself taking a walk through the graveyard, a long, steaming hot shower, spoon eating nutella and peanut butter (a tasty solution), sleeping, or applying cinnamint gloss. I’ve also discovered that taking pictures of things I like helps me relax. My sister recently taught me this trick. Her gorgeous pictures inspired me to take photos of things I would have normally not taken a second glance at. Here are some of my favorites.

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.” – Audrey Hepburn

Loved this so much!

Monday Musings

image

There’s something about Mondays that are always exhausting, rushed, and long. Despite my thoughts that today would be ordinary and dreary, its been a pretty great start to the week. I woke up around 7:00, had time for breakfast, got away with not finishing my homework, and practiced flute etudes. I’m now waiting for my next flute student to arrive and while I do, I’ve started using my new moleskin planner (I know I know, exciting). The rest of my week looks pretty packed, but thankfully, the real rush starts on the 4th (more about that later). Happy Monday!

I’ve never liked or owned a pair of UGGs in my life. Ever since I started to see every girl start to wear them with sweat pants, they became a big no-no. With the ever so cold winter though, I knew I’d need a pair of super warm boots that I wouldn’t mind getting a bit wet. That’s when I came across a pair of Beach Feet. With their warm interior and light-weight feel, these boots were a must-buy. And seeing as they’re a lot cheaper than UGGs and yet practically the same thing (sans the UGG sign) Beach Feet is my sheep-skin boot go-to.

Eating at Sweet Tomatoes buffet with my sister and mom was relaxing and delicious. I’ve always been a fan of this restraunt, with its long salad buffet, wide selection of soups, and fat free chocolate mousse. Most of all, I enjoy the cute note cards indicating if you’re done eating or if you’ll “be ripe back.” Hope you’ve had a great Saturday!

I’m currently driving back home from the concert tonight. These past three days have been some of the best and fastest in my life. I caught up with old friends, played hours of flute, and enjoyed adorable cafes and coffee shops (more details later). I’m now headed to dinner with my mom and sister but before I enjoy some chow (and not have to worry about eating it fast enough to make rehersal) I found a few gorgeous pictures on imgfave.

My normal Saturday mornings consist of late starts, long breakfasts, and coffee at my leisure. However, this Saturday was far from ordinary. With the All-State honors concert less than 5 hours away, its no surprise this morning was more rushed than the 500 meter dash. My friends and I got up at 5:40 to leave for the arena. At 7, we rehearsed for an hour and now we simply wait until 3. Before heading back to the hotel to pack, we stopped by this cute corner coffee shop. The smell of coffee beens, frothed milk, and freshly baked croissants was just as incredible as the vintage vibe it provided.
