It’s incredible how well time heals everything. With just a single night of sleep, I left a throbbing migraine, stomach ache, and a mountain of worries behind. I’ve always been the type of person to let a few hours, days, or weeks pass before labeling an issue as major, and it’s never upset me. Dwelling over issues only for them to become non existent in a few hours is extremely time consuming, stressful, and annoying. But don’t get me wrong, I spend a lot of my time thinking about a lot of stuff, but I just don’t always do it aloud. Another way to cope with a mind full of thoughts is with a long shower, mindless video games, making wishes, and baking tripple fudge brownies. Happy Wednesday!

Today revolved around a three hour drive with my band to record the Hindemith symphony, endless hours of homework, and many smiles. Despite the fact that this Monday has been extremely long and that everyone is wishing the week was over, my mood has stayed consistently joyful (pun always intended). I’m giving a lot of credit to cinnamon toast crunch dinners and cute music. “What I wouldn’t do” by Fine Frenzy has been stuck in my head for a while now. Her sweet, genuine lyrics are enough to make anyone’s work-filled night a little more cheerful.

I’ll keep you warm at night,

Third Times a Charm

image

Upon arrival back home from a very busy week of traveling (a lot more about that later), I’ve began to notice how good of a number three is. I know it’s a bit random but when your life seems to revolve around succeeding at your third audition, being in a group of three good friends, triple shots of espresso, having the band record it’s best on take three, getting an A on your third psychology test, having your three favorite songs stuck on replay in your head, receiving three favorite glosses, and noticing that the third time anything is done is when it’s best, its acceptable.

Morning Muses

{Remains of some extremely good hot coco}

This morning was both extremely busy and yet very relaxing. I woke up a few minutes before the alarm went off (don’t you hate it when that happens?) and used the extra time to take an especially long, steaming hot shower (my favorite place for deep thinking). The rest of the day seems pretty busy: doing some last minute packing, a few hours of flute practice, and driving up to the airport.

So far, my Monday has been pretty descent. Despite the fact that I don’t have class today (thank you presidents!) I woke up very early. I took the extra hours to work on a few homework assignments, study, and take an extremely long extremely hot shower. The rest of the day was dedicated to a long, slow morning of music composition, a short walk outside, a simple lunch, and a variety of good music. “Almost Lover” has stuck with me for the past couple of days, not that I’m objecting. The sweet lyrics and soothing piano are enough to make any cup of tea a little more special.

I’d never want to see you unhappy,

{Studying music at Starbucks coffee}

Though it’s been two long days, this weekend has gone by so fast it’s hard to believe it even happened. Despite the fact that I wanted it to last a lot longer, it went great. On Saturday morning, I had my second audition (went alright) met up with my sister and a few friends, had a delicious breakfast, walked around the city of Chicago, and enjoyed a long evening. The next day consisted of tasty coconut chocolate chip pancakes at my leisure, warm drinks at my favorite cafe, and fresh Indian food. The rest of the week is pretty busy for me too: 3 more auditions, a trip to Canada, and a long drive to Iowa. Hope your week goes great!

When your week seems to revolve around vintage skirts, toasted croissants, flute practice, and a new pair of prada pumps, it’s easy to forget all the little things in life that can crawl under your skin (how much you’ve been avoiding your reading assignments maybe?). This weekend looks pretty great too. Other than the fact my second audition is coming up (hello, nerves!) I’ve planned a relaxing and fun weekend in the windy city: a tasty breakfast, a trip to the cultural center, and maybe even a stop by the art museum. As well as visiting a few friends and my sister (yoopie!). Here are a few Prada pictures I’ve been dying over. Happy Friday!
