I’ve always been in love with layering long shirts and cardigans over a pair of my favorite dark wash jeans. Though for days that I’m just not feeling the denim look, I rely on a few pairs of pants that are skinny, without the blue. Whether they’re trousers, leggins, or colored cotton, some are a bit more bold than others, but they’re fun enough to give you a stylish, fun, flirty, and unique edge.

The past few days have been spent mostly in bed feeling rather drowsy and sick, however now that the symptoms have somewhat passed, I can continue going about my daily routines. With the (somewhat) extra free time, I’ve been able to brows through some of my favorite stores (online of course) and enjoy some deep love and lust with products. I’ve never been one to invest in too many accessories, however one particular bag caught my eye almost instantly. Anthropologie’s Vela Clutch in Neutral Motif had just enough hard edge and girly sparkle for any day or night out. The silk satchel is covered in sparkling, shimmering beads to add a bit of glamor to any ensemble. It’s perfect for the next few months of summer steam; if you like things rough, that is.

{A few much needed fashion books}

The past few days feel like they were years and years ago. With the much anticipated summer holiday inching closer with every sunrise, it’s hard to continue focusing on anything school-related.  Despite the feeling that I’ve already finished my schooling, and the irresistible urge to ignore my homework, I know that I need to continue my studies for the next few weeks. Even so, I’m sure it will be impossible to follow through. On the bright side, this week has  gotten off to an excellent start. My Sunday was spent doing god knows what (I’ve already forgotten…) Yesterday I got out of school to visit the city, then gave a lesson, and went to a late band rehearsal. Today I was lucky enough to enjoy a much needed day off with close friends in the heart of Chicago. It was spent taking the train with some of the most incredible girls in the world, enjoying big breakfasts, walking around the “touristy” parts of the windy city, taking elevators, and thinking about things over a hot cup of tea. Before turning in and facing tomorrow, I thought I’d spend a bit of time sharing a few things that bring smiles to my face.

Most of my Mondays are spent in a building studying whatever my teachers can throw at me, however, today my schedule is a bit different. My morning was spent with my counselor discussing a few plans for next week and right after, I hit the city to visit the Chicago board of trade. Not only is the building gorgeous, but the fact that I can spend a day downtown in business clothes and a Louis tote just made the start of my week a whole lot better.

As you may already know, I lot of my time is spent listening to music–either an individual song on replay, one of my favorite playlists, or discovering new things on Pandora. During the past few days I’ve made a small album of different versions of the song “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The classic by Elvis Presley is sure to melt any heart because the words and feel is unbelievable. . Though every version is impeccable (haven’t found one I don’t love yet) my favorites would have to be the original and the covers by Ingrid Michaelson, Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, and Buble. Oh, and yes, I’ve already acknowledged that I couldn’t help falling in love with anyone who sings me this song.

Some things are meant to be,

With the  week finally over and the long busy days long gone, its nice to finally be able to sit down and rest. After a rather exhausting week of rehearsal and school work, it’s anyone’s dream to be able to curl up in a warm, comfy bed and sleep through at least 5 snoozes (my 10am morning). The past few days, been keeping sane with a bit of baking and a lot of tasty treats. I was craving the taste of peanut butter for the longest time so when I spotted this recipe, I knew i just had to try it. The only flaw? 1 1/2 dozen muffins wasn’t enough to last me more than 1 1/2 days (This means that while I sit here at barnes and noble, I can’t enjoy a tasty break).

With spring finally at full bloom, I’ve completely given up all my wool and cashmere for breathable cotton and silk. Though I haven’t had much time to shop before today, I’ve still been trying to keep up with the many stylish, classy, and fun trends this season has to offer. One that I’ve welcomed with wide, open arms is the floral trend. Because what says “I love spring and being girly” more than bright patterns and bouquets?
