It’s everyone’s dream to stumble upon the perfect chocolate chip cookie, and luckily, I think I just have. The minute I discovered this recipe, I just had to try it out. Though they take a bit more time than usual, the extra bit of patience is worth every second. The cookies were magnificent! They had an amazing texture, soft and chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside. They were not too sweet, and the sprinkle of salt on top gave it an incredible kick. I took them to work and the soft, chewy, caramelized goodness was gone within 5 minutes. It’s hard to imagine ever going back to my other chocolate chip cookies now that this one has come into my life.

The other day was a bit more laid back than usual so I decided to quickly whip up some comfort food to help relax. Mac and cheese has always been one of my quick go-tos (right along side frozen pizza and mozzarella sticks) and one of my most craved items. This particular recipe is one of the most simple. I just make a box of craft mac and cheese, melt in a huge slab of fresh mozzarella, and throw on lots of shredded cheese before baking in the oven. Old habits die hard, and I doubt my obsession for mac and cheese ever will.

There’s something about the idea of having another Christmas in July that has always appealed to me. That’s why, the other day I decided to make this recipe to help make it feel like the idea was even remotely possible. With a bit of ice-cold milk, some festive music, a red and green dress, and a few friends, these cookies really did make it seem like Christmas was nearby.

If you haven’t already noticed, my sweet tooth easily manipulates me. I remember trying to go on a no man-made food diet once (strictly veggies, fruits, meats, etc). I got through breakfast and lunch fine, but by dinner I was having Kraft mac and cheese, a large loaf of bread, and delicious coffee gelato. Because today was long, busy, and hectic (not to mention a bit too hot to handle) I decided to sweeten it up a bit by making ice cream. Coffee and chocolate are a big part of my life so I found this recipe online and it met all my requirements.

There’s something about summer foods that tastes so fresh, cool, and delicious. When else can you bite into delicious barbecue, enjoy fruit tart on the patio, or simply nibble on grilled cheese sandwiches and watermelon at a picnic with loved ones? One thing I’ve always enjoyed about our house, is the small garden in the backyard. Every year, we grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, and spices we use in a few recipes. One of the simplest is a tomato, basil, mozzarella salad. You can definitely taste the freshness of the tomato and the basil, and with one trip to the farmer’s market, we had quality mozzarella for the finishing touch. With just a sprinkle of salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and a drizzle of quality extra virgin olive oil, this salad is ready to accompany any summer dinner or stand alone as a healthy, midday snack.

With the  week finally over and the long busy days long gone, its nice to finally be able to sit down and rest. After a rather exhausting week of rehearsal and school work, it’s anyone’s dream to be able to curl up in a warm, comfy bed and sleep through at least 5 snoozes (my 10am morning). The past few days, been keeping sane with a bit of baking and a lot of tasty treats. I was craving the taste of peanut butter for the longest time so when I spotted this recipe, I knew i just had to try it. The only flaw? 1 1/2 dozen muffins wasn’t enough to last me more than 1 1/2 days (This means that while I sit here at barnes and noble, I can’t enjoy a tasty break).

Most of my weekend  evenings are spent relaxing (either alone or with friends) and baking up something delicious. Since my week was rushed, exhausting, and busy, I took advantage of this Saturday by making one of my favorite treats of all time. These muffins are extremely moist, full of flavor, and the chocolate chips give the perfect amount of sweet.
