{Victoria College (house) at the University of Toronto}

Though I’ve been displaying a bit of some intense and rather unacceptable MIA, I think it’s safe to say that I’ll be having a lot more free time now that I’m finally settled into school. Moving to a new country is indeed scary (especially when it is by yourself) but after meeting a few super sweet people who become some of your closest friends, it gets so much easier. This past week has been full of much amazement. An inauguration ceremony, flute audition, meeting new people, late night movies with floor mates, enjoying the beautiful architecture of this University…I think it’s safe to say that this year will be one of the best in my life.

Though these past few days have been so busy, I haven’t even had time to check my voicemail, they’ve been incredible. I left the windy city early Tuesday morning to drive to the university of Toronto. However, before arriving, I spent a day at the beautiful falls enjoying the warm summer weather and cool Canada breeze. I took several pictures of the waters and gorgeous u of t architecture, but until I post them, I’ve been spending this relaxing morning reading one of my favorite books, Grimm’s fairy tales.

{Current go-to scarf for spring}

Due to my excessive boredom ( I’m currently writing an article for journalism) and lack of anything interesting happening in my life recently, I decided to make a list of the following few things I’m looking forward to this week (this will also help me stay on track and remember what needs to be done). Oh, and so that you don’t die of boredom too, I’ll throw in a few visuals (aka: pictures).

  • Concert Thursday night: Our symphony orchestra will be performing with our chorus  (it’s an Opera-themed concert). Oh, and two Chicago Symphony Orchestra soloists will be there to sing La Traviata, accompanied by us!
  • Contact UofT: I somehow managed to get into the music program at Canada’s top University (regardless of whether or not that’s a mistake, I’m a happy camper). Shortly after the music letter, I found that I had made it to the school too. Well, I must schedule a tour with them to see whether or not I will attend. (For those of you keeping up with my college searches, McGill still hasn’t gotten back to me.)
  • Composers forum: My teacher suggested I attend this Saturday. Not sure where it is yet (guessing Northwestern?) but sounds interesting nonetheless.
  • Flute Lesson: 1.5 hours of mental abuse, and exhausting exercises. Most productive minutes of my week!
  • Fundraiser: Friday night with daddy’s work. Who could say no to dressing up for a silent auction?
  • Flute Practice/Composing: Pretty self explanatory. Usually consumes about 3 hours of my day.

hmmm… I just noticed everything on this list starts with either a C or an F. Hopefully it’s not foreshadowing what I got on the two tests I took today :).
